Myth: research has settled that AI helps students learn

Headlines can make the research sound settled. As of 2026-10-26, of the 361 items in our tracker (including our Beyond AI section), 0 are rated Level 4, 5 are rated Level 3, 16 are rated Level 2 and 65 are rated Level 1. The rest are news, commentary, launches, technical tests or items we cannot rate yet. Reviews that combine many studies can also mislead when the studies inside are weak. What to do instead

A review of many studies is only as strong as the studies it includes. Our method says a review should be rated no higher than the studies it includes. Our automatic first pass does not check those studies yet, so treat a review's level as temporary until a person checks it. Level 4 always needs a person.
